Mike Krzeminski – Environmental Scientist |
EDUCATION
B.S., Natural Resource Management, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI., 2000
EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
Mike has eight years experience in the environmental field conducting Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments as well as extensive experience with site investigations, UST removals and remediation projects throughout the west coast.
Mike has performed Phase I Environmental Site Assessments for all types of residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial properties including manufacturing, printing and telecommunications facilities, and large retail and commercial real-estate transactions.
As a Project Manager, Mike has supervised large-scale subsurface drilling activities including the installation of soil borings and ground-water monitoring wells, logging site geology, and collecting soil and ground water samples for chemical, physical, and microbiological analysis. Mike has performed environmental modeling and remedial system design in order to accurately characterize contaminate distribution in the subsurface and explore remedial cleanup alternatives, and has served as the onsite project representative for numerous construction, infrastructure, UST removal and remedial excavation projects including petroleum bulk storage terminals, dry cleaners, wood treatment facilities and many other industrial and manufacturing facilities.
Mike also has also worked in the natural resource field as a wildlife biologist conducting avian surveys for the Marbled Murrelet on the Oregon coast, and amphibian surveys for Giant and Torrent Salamanders and Tailed Frog species in the Cascade Mountains. Mike has assisted with various habitat restoration projects which included wetland determinations, habitat evaluations, invasive species removal, GPS field surveying, and planting of native vegetation.
KEY PROJECTS
Former Bulk Fuel Terminal, San Francisco, California Served as the onsite project representative overseeing a large-scale remediation excavation project which involved the decommissioning of former oil terminal features and removal of petroleum and heavy metal impacted soils.
Former Dry Cleaning Facility, Novato, California
Assisted with the design and implementation of a dual phase soil vapor and groundwater extraction system for the remediation of chlorinated solvent impacted soils and groundwater, which included the installation, O&M and troubleshooting of the system.
Coyote Valley Perchlorate Investigation, Morgan Hill, California
Participated in a basin wide subsurface investigation which involved the logging of soil borings to a depth of 450 feet and installing CMT groundwater monitoring wells.
Numerous Environmental Cleanup Projects, Oregon and Washington
Mike has extensive experience performing environmental investigations and remedial cleanup projects in the Pacific Northwest, including conducting risk based assessments and implementing remedial actions to comply with Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and Washington Department of Ecology requirements.
CERTIFICATIONS
Mike is a licensed supervisor with the State of Oregon for UST Decommissioning, Heating Oil Tank Supervision and Soil Matrix Cleanup.
